Koh Similan is the largest island. There are a total of 11 islands. The sea in the area has an average depth of 60 feet. Underwater it is full of rock formations and coral reefs in several shapes and forms, resembling such things as deer, leaves, brains, and mushrooms. Above the water are found many diverse species such as the Nicobar pigeon, Mangrove monitor lizards, Flying fox and more. Tachai Island is a part of Similan Marine National Park. This little island, the northernmost of Similan, becomes the most popular site for snorkeling for a few years. Hopping on the speedboat just for one hour and a half in about 55 Km from northern Khao Lak, you will find the crystal clear water with the power white sand beaches. Its shape is suitable for snorkeling and diving in various depths. This is one of the best tropical islands in Andaman sea with its untouched in archipelago and the alluring nature.
